Phil Power writes this week that if Michigan wants a prosperous economy we must dramatically improve the skills of our workforce. Bob Harris, an official with the MEA teacher’s union, argues we might boost expectations of today’s students by abolishing high school graduation as a rite of passage. And former state schools superintendent Tom Watkins suggests Michigan would do well to pay attention to the blooming “Creative Economy” movement.
