Proud to be Michiganian by Donald Beyette

Michigan is extremely accommodating to the physically handicapped and their needs.  The Michigan state capital wasn’t built to be accessible to the handicapped, But with careful consideration the capital has added several changes to make this building wheelchair accessible.

Michigan was one of the first states to recognize handicapper rights and changed the Michigan Constitution to guarantee those rights.

Michigan is the only state to enact legislation to give 10 percent of any purchases it makes to handicapper owned businesses.

If you go to any Michigan Campground, park, historical site and lighthouses you’ll find that the accommodations for the handicapped have been well thought out.

Michigan campgrounds are designed with the restroom and showers to accommodate those who are permanent mobility impaired or in wheelchairs. Specific campground sites are designated for the handicapped and held in reserve.

That’s why I, Donald Beyette am proud to be a Michiganian.
