This breathtaking photo was taken during a windy fall day in Petoskey on the shore of Little Traverse Bay. My favorite thing about Michigan is the abundance of natural beauty, forests, and public land. We have everything here: beautiful summer days, colorful fall leaves, snow, spring with new growth and new beginnings. We have woods, more freshwater than anywhere, sand, mountains, lush valleys, etc. What more could one want along the lines of abundant natural beauty? Where else can one experience so much in one area?
As far as the current economic condition in Michigan goes, I see it as the turbulent, churning waters in the picture. That particular day the wind was blowing hard and the cold was unforgiving, but the sun offered hope. We have hope. Just as the wind and cold never lasts forever, nor will the state of the economy. A sunny, warm day followed the one in the picture, and the water was as smooth as glass. Our sunny, warm day in the economy is coming.
