What are you going to do about the economy? What’s your strategy to make sure Michigan has an educated workforce that’s competitive and sustainable in the future? What’s your state budget strategy? What, if any, government reforms would you implement?
Those are the questions we’re asking every day across the state this fall in the Great Debates 2010 program. We’re seeking to reach 100 candidates in the most competitive Michigan House and Senate races. We’re hosting debates and in-depth interviews with the candidates. We’ll be taping all through September and broadcasting those legislative debates on public television stations across the state, on MiVote.org, and on the Center’s web site throughout October to help voters prepare for Election Day in early November.
We’re also negotiating to hold debates for governor, secretary of state and attorney general.
And, on October 5th and 6th we’re heading north for our biennial community forum series with Interlochen Public Radio to hear the ideas of all candidates in four legislative races.
Our first two fall debates Two debates are already online. Check ‘em out…

The Center for Michigan has been curiously silent regarding all of our choices this November.
I’ve heard enough about Rick Snyder and Virg Bernero. I want to see how they stack up against the rest of our choices.
