Years ago Mayor Young and I had a 1/2 hour talk about Gov. Engler’s redudctions on all the entitlement programs in Michigan to the tune of millions which upset Mayor Young and he said to me I don’t know about you Fred but I’m a Democrate and we are entitled to those entitlements and I said maybe your right but how do you expect to pay for them and he responded “There’s only one way I know and that is to raise taxes”. I said it might be one way but it’s not going to be a very popular way. It seems to me nothing has changed much ever since Gov Granholm has been in we are all paying more taxes. I never thought I would ever get into politics but I guess if I want to see a change It has to start with each one of us so I’m ready to throw my hat in and see if I can make a differance. I Think Truman said it best when he said the Buck Stops here. Fred McKenzie
