Coveting the Great Lakes

Michigan-based journalist and big thinker Keith Schneider hears another troubling example of drought-ridden states coveting the Great Lakes and points out the contrast between Michigan’s bountiful winter wetness and sinking reservoirs in so many other areas of the country.

Senate Bill 212 would ratify that compact but would also change in-state water withdrawals in ways that trouble some environmental groups.
