Michigan has been my home for over 17 years and I could not be any more satisfied with my life in Michigan. Michigan has a rural feeling even living in the city, which gives off a homey vibe wherever you go. There is also a sense that people actually care about one another and are willing to help you, something that you don't see everywhere. More specifically, Detroit is a great place to live and I hope I the chance to live here throughout my adult life. I can honestly say that I would rather live in Detroit than the suburbs of it.Living in Detroit has had it rough times throughout my lifetime; however I could not be any happier with the city. It has a great history and has a chance to enter a positive spotlight to continue its great history. I also admire the street structure of the city. The layout is ingenious, allowing one to go about the city easily with little chance of getting of getting lost. You know all "mile" roads go east and west so if you ever run into one, you know what direction you're traveling. Also having Grand River, Woodward, and Gratiot also meet downtown helps people find their way, and this is all done without the use of freeways.
The freeways set up in Detroit also make traveling around the city easy and quick. It can relieve the burden of driving directly through the city, which I believe is necessary for a city of Detroit's size. This alone is a good enough reason to stay in Detroit, for I do not want to have to relearn a street structure of another city, especially since Detroit's is well designed. Its great history just makes me want to extend and be a part of its future. Detroit is a major part of Michigan's history and it is internationally known for all of its contributions.
I cannot truly express my love and gratitude for the state of Michigan. I may live to better myself mentally and educationally, but I will come back to share my knowledge with the rest of Michigan. We cannot make Michigan any better if everyone wants to leave and go somewhere else. The only way we can make Michigan a better place is if we all come to together and put a solid effort into this goal. Michigan is currently in the rebuilding process and I believe it is going smoothly. I will make sure I can do everything I can possibly do to contribute to this great state.
