The Michigan Participation Project

By John Bebow - July 25, 2008

OK, so maybe you're not interested in running for office. You can still bolster public leadership in Michigan simply by participating in this year's Michigan elections and building interest among co-workers, friends and neighbors.

The Michigan Participation Project, a new web site launched by the Michigan Nonprofit Association, provides many of the tools state residents need to have a voice in this years elections. Those tools include:

  • Quick links on Registering to Vote, Requesting an Absentee Ballot, Finding Your Polling Location, and What's On the Ballot.
  • A listing of Candidate Forums across the state.
  • Information on available Nonpartisan Voter Guides.
  • Details about and Registration for Free Voter Engagement Trainings for 501(c)(3) Nonprofits.
  • Easy access for Downloading Resources such as A Nonprofit's Guide to Hosting a Candidate Forum and a legal primer on permissible 501(c)(3) election year activity.
