The Beauty that is Grand Haven Lighthouse by April Schultz

By The Center for Michigan - March 31, 2008

Grand Haven Lighthouse

This summer was the first time that I ever went to Grand Haven, and I was amazed by its beauty.  I am from Bay City, so I am used to seeing water, but nothing compares to what I saw in Grand Haven.  My friend took me to the pier where I took this picture and it’s my absolute favorite.  Seeing this lighthouse really made me proud of being from Michigan.  For the future of this state, more people should see this image because it would really make them appreciate Michigan.  If people saw how amazingly beautiful Michigan is, it would really make them think twice about trashing it.  People would actually try to keep the state clean and be proud to be from Michigan.  I am proud to call myself a Michigander and to be from the twenty-sixth state.  I will do whatever it takes to keep Michigan clean, and I hope that you will too!
