Our Story by Scott and Mari Cameron

Harbor Springs

This is our story.

My wife Mari and I were both raised in Michigan....I in Birmingham near Detroit, and she in Coldwater.  Careers and families took us to both coasts, the south, and New England.  Seven years ago we found ourselves semi-retired and living in Sarasota, Florida, which is a wonderful community with a great deal to offer to most anyone.  However, we began to pine for Michigan.  In part this was because we still had family here who we seemed to only see in the Spring when they would come south to visit us.  We realized though that it also had to do with our missing the geography and the climate and the character of the State of Michigan.  After some deliberation we moved to the Lansing area so that we could easily travel throughout the entire State.  We've been back here for five years now.  We love Michigan and travel it whenever we can, from the Great Lakes coasts to the U.P.  People always ask us why we moved north to Michigan when so many want to move south to Florida.  The simple answer is that you can't see or feel the view in the attached picture anywhere in Florida.
