Midwestern Values by Deborah Bletl

By The Center for Michigan - February 29, 2008

Like most of you, I also love the natural wonders that make Michigan what it
is; the beautiful northern areas, the Great Lakes, the beaches, gorgeous
sunsets and Mackinaw Island. I love that Michigan offers something for
everyone from opera to baseball.  I love the change of seasons with our warm
springs and hot summers.   But what I truly love most about Michigan is that
is gives me an opportunity to raise my son in a state that has exceptional
values and a wonderful sense of community.

Did you ever wonder shy so many celebrities choose to remain in Michigan
when they can most likely live anywhere they choose?   What magical force
pulls them back here?  There is just something to be said about the great
people of Michigan. We are hard working, decent people with great Midwestern
values and I like that.  You can just be yourself here and be happy.

I love Michigan.  This is my state and I am truly proud to say I am a
Michigander.
