The time for partisanship in Michigan is over!
All sides need to sit down, plan strategy, and come up with solutions to business development issues. Every citizen of Michigan has a stake in this solution generating process.
For example, if this means that the life sciences industry will not locate in a state which disallows stem cell research...then we need to pass and promote such research...

Another example...if business shies away from union environments..then we need to take action to reverse our pro union orientation to one that views the employee as an equal partner and stakeholder.

The businesses we seek are those which promote education and high skills. Usually, the people who run such companies have a liberal social policy bent and are economic centrists. All classes and citizens in Michigan must understand this and come to terms with what this means to our culture.
