Michigan Beauty from Shorline to Shoreline by Kenneth Reid

By The Center for Michigan - January 2, 2008

Having moved to Michigan from the Southeast USA, I was quite shocked to find
the varied natural beauty from the North to the South. Most folks from other
parts of the country don't associate the amount of fishing coastline that we
have here. It all makes for quite scenic coastlines, second to none. With
the bottle deposit laws in the State of Michigan, there are very few bottles
thrown away on the ground. It all makes for a very clean state, relative to
most other states.

The big thing I would like to see changed is an equal amount of dollars
makde available per student for school funding - regardless of where in the
state you live. It would put most school districts on an equal footing. It
would also take the excuse of money out of the equation, as to why a school
district is performing poorly on standardized testing.
