Marquette Sunset by Kathryn Marie Thomas

 Marquette Sunset

I took this photo on my trip up to Marquette for a college tour at Northern Michigan University. My mom and I were just leaving Marquette on the last night and as we were driving by we stopped at the beach for a minute, and I couldn't pass up snapping this picture. My vision for Michigan is that we can keep our waters clean, and clean those that aren't so we can enjoy things such as fishing, swimming, and sunbathing without worrying what's in the water. I'd also like for us to keep what water we have! In the Upper Peninsula especially, most beaches have lost over 100ft of water, it's gone out that much. Also with the lack of water, we're getting the zebra mussels. Even though they're pretty, they're dangerous, and need to be removed immediately. Overall, my vision for Michigan is that we can get our acts together, and help to save our environment and touchy ecosystems in our special state.
