Learning from Maine's Struggle

The state of Maine began the painful process of industrial restructuring decades ago, while Michigan still boomed as the auto manufacturing capital of the world. Today, the Maine restructuring continues. There's a bipartisan movement there to invest in the new innovation sectors of Maine's economy, invest in tourism, modernize the tax code to make the state more competitive, and reduce the size and cost of government. Maybe we can learn from them.
