Kalamazoo Gazette - "Conference Attendees Promote Statewide Promise"

Michigan could implement The Kalamazoo Promise statewide through a tax that would cost the average household a few hundred dollars a year, officials at an Ann Arbor think tank said in an analysis presented Wednesday in Kalamazoo.

Covering tuition and fees for all of Michigan's public university students would cost $900 million beyond what is currently covered by state, federal and institutional scholarships and grants, according to the analysis by The Center for Michigan.
