'Great Debates' set to begin

By John Bebow - September 10, 2008

Fifteen debates involving 30 candidates for the Michigan House of Representatives are now scheduled on Detroit Public Television. The Oakland Press just highlighted the "Great Debates" partnership between the Center for Michigan and WTVS.

Hosted by opinion editors at the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press, the debates will feature questions on many of the issues and "Common Ground Agenda" items raised in the Center for Michigan's statewide Community Conversations in the past year.

Debate tapings begin Friday, September 11 and will be aired on Sunday afternoons on WTVS throughout the fall. Full video of each debate will also be available online within a couple days of taping. Videos will begin appearing on the Center for Michigan web site and made available to all major media websites beginning next week.

My daughter is doing a project in her history class and she needs information on Robert Murphy 36th district candidate in Shelby twp. We need information (like a bio) on him, his view points and where I can pickup any kind of pamplets or buttons he might have. Can you help us?
