If you care about Michigan politics and policy, sleep in over the holidays because 2008 will no doubt be another very active and animated year at the State Capitol.
The state House is up for grabs in the November election, hampering the prospects for sane, bipartisan, future-oriented problem solving. The 1,000-plus participants in the Michigan's Defining Moment Campaign will reconvene in February and March to further refine a clear, bipartisan agenda for the state's future -- an agenda that we'll be working hard to assure is the center of dialogue in tough legislative races next fall.
The Detroit News' Mark Hornbeck and Freep's Ron Dzwonkowski just took quick glimpses at some of what's to come while House Speaker Andy Dillon tried to put a positive spin on the zaniness of 2007.
