First Snowfall Treat by Lori Smith

By The Center for Michigan - January 6, 2008

 Ripley

Growing up in Michigan, I remember playing in the pristine white snow each winter. I would play in the snow with my dog, trying to fool him when the tennis ball flew into a huge snow mound. This year, we were able to celebrate the first birthday of our Lab, Ripley, during a beautiful Michigan snowfall. He loved his lamb treat, and it was wonderful to see him frolic in the powdery snow. My vision for Michigan is that every child would know the simple beauty of a recent snowfall without having any financial worries to tarnish its brilliance.
