Family Time by Steve Elkins

Michigan: This past summer my family and I took a trip to the upper LP and the UP for a little sight seeing and I really enjoyed it. There are so many things to do that we just couldn't come close to seeing it all. My mom, brother, and I don't really get to do many things together because my mom and I work a lot so this trip was very meaningful. We made many stops including: the Mackinaw Bridge, Tahquamenon Falls, the Shipwreck Museum, Oswald's Bear Ranch, the Sou Locks, and a cranberry farm somewhere down the road from the Shipwreck Museum. The farm was mom's idea. We also stayed at a hotel that was right on Lake Superior and the view was great. The water was very shallow so you could walk out about 80 yards before it dropped off.

My favorite part would have to be the bear farm because there were two cubs that you could actually go into their cage and play with them. I also had my picture taken with one. Another thing that I really enjoyed was the time with my family and all that Michigan has to offer made the trip even better! I'm pretty sure that anyone can find something they like to do in the Great Lakes State.
