No secret here: the wallets of Michigan's workers aren't as fat as they used to be. New Census figures this week show Michigan incomes standing still while workers nationwide are gaining slightly. See how Michigan compares nationally. States with best income growth included Arizona, Washington, D.C., Lousisiana, New Mexico, and Nevada. Michigan's ace demographer, Kurt Metzger, found men are faring much better than women in earnings in Michigan: "females make 71 cents on the dollar, which ranks us ahead of only four states."
