Kudos to House Republican Majority Floor Leader Chris Ward who, at considerable political peril, voted for a compromise of cuts and an income tax increase. "It was time for me to do something because no one else was." Ward said. "I'm hopeful in doing this we will move this debate forward. Compromise is at the heart of our duty to our constituents and it is well past time for us to reach one." Before any budget deal is done, a number vulnerable representatives and senators of both parties are going to have to get out of their leather chairs and make tough votes. Ward deserves credit for stepping into the lonely spotlight of compromise.

Thanks to Chris Ward for taking one for the constituents!!! Maybe he's the only one that realizes who he works for.
Politicians per se get a bad name...but it is always refreshing to see someone like Chris Ward step forward and remind the others their duty to the constituents. Who elected these politicians???...and where should their allegiance be??? They are only the voice of the constituents and should remember that with every breath. Don't worry about reelection or retirement programs...worry about those who elected you to represent them...the people deserve a voice and YOU are that voice and that's your duty!
