The largest conversation in Michigan -- 2,000 participants and growing -- will continue throughout 2009 and into 2010 as concerned people of all ages work to set the agenda for a brighter future through the Michigan's Defining Moment Public Engagement Campaign.

Seeds of a similar approach are starting to grow at the national level.
In the new "Agenda for Strengthening Democracy," the national public engagement group AmericaSpeaks calls for a new White House office for public engagement, and nationwide conversations involving millions of people to get in-depth citizen input on the toughest issues of our tough time -- the economy, health care, energy and foreign policy.
