We must be doing something right. Or, actually, I guess I should say we must be doing something, um, correctly.
The Center for Michigan was formed four years ago with bipartisanship in mind. And we've achieved it! At least in the off-the-cuff labels given to us by mainstream media!
On Sunday, the Muskegon Chronicle called the Center for Michigan "right of center."
So… which is it?!?!?!
Neither.
There's no party affiliation attached to the citizen concerns we've gathered in nearly 500 town hall meetings called "Community Conversations" in the past two years. The main themes discussed in those meetings, and in this newsletter, and in the candidate forums and debates we hold, and in the policy meetings we hold in Lansing, are not owned by either Democrats or Republicans.
What's partisan about hopes for a more prosperous and diverse economy, a talented and globally competitive workforce, and efficient, effective, and accountable government?

It is time for the people to retake control of our destiny. Politics as usual has to be stopped. To long it has been not what is best for the country but what is best for the party,sad political situation we have created. It is time for politics to be what is right to turn aroung Mi. not dem.vs Rep. issue. Get involved, speak up, get informed and VOTE!!!!!

I never understood how politics worked or didn't work. One year into my first term as a trustee in a small township I have seen more about a goverment that is self serving instead of serving. I firmly agree with Jim that the people have to become more involved if any postiive change will ever come about. I am only one voice on a 7 member board but will continue to serve instead of being served and work for the people who elected me.
