Detroit News editorial writer and columnist Amber Arellano has spotted a new political trend that pretty much illustrates why the Center for Michigan has quickly grown to 2,700 members. Now she wants your help:
"New research shows that the number of the country's independents (that it, politically) is growing by leaps and bounds. Do you know a metro Detroit "independent" by chance? Or a person who has always been independent-minded, but perhaps is changing directions in terms of voting habits (Republican to Democrat, or vice versa) in recent years? If so, and they'd be willing to chat via email or quickly by phone, I'd love to talk with them."
