A Green Light to Pollute Lake Michigan

"It's crazy! It's downright nuts!" Michigan Congresswoman Candace Miller said of Indiana's approval of a plan by the BP oil company to dump thousands of pounds of ammonia and other wastes into Lake Michigan to produce the grand total of 80 jobs. Many others shared Miller's concerns. To no avail -- so far. The EPA's top administrator says it's just fine for BP to be the first company in years to increase its federally permitted pollution of the Great Lakes.
